What I appreciate most about Plum Stone Prep’s online practice tests is their emulation of the real exam. Entering the exam room, I felt a strong sense of confidence in my grasp of the material, and upon leaving, I had no doubt that my investment of time had been thoroughly justified.

CEFR C1 FAQ

What is the difference between the CEFR C1 exam and the C2 exam?
The CEFR C1 exam tests advanced language proficiency, while the C2 exam tests mastery-level proficiency. At the C2 level, users can understand virtually everything they hear or read, summarize information from different sources, and express themselves spontaneously, very fluently, and precisely. The C2 exam is more challenging and less commonly required than the C1 exam.

Are there any prerequisites for taking the CEFR C1 exam?
In most cases, there are no formal prerequisites for taking the CEFR C1 exam. However, it is recommended that candidates have a level of language proficiency corresponding to the B2 level or higher before attempting the C1 exam.

Will I receive a certificate after passing the CEFR C1 exam?
Yes, most exam providers will issue a certificate or an official score report upon successful completion of the CEFR C1 exam. This document can serve as proof of your language proficiency level for educational institutions, employers, or other organizations.

How does the CEFR C1 exam compare to other advanced language proficiency tests?
The CEFR C1 exam is comparable to other advanced language proficiency tests, such as the TOEFL iBT (scoring 95-120), IELTS (band 7-8), Cambridge CAE (Grade A, B, or C), and DELE C1. However, each exam has its own format, content, and scoring system, so exact equivalencies may vary.

Are there any age restrictions for taking the CEFR C1 exam?
Age restrictions for the CEFR C1 exam may vary by exam provider and test center. Some providers may have minimum age requirements, such as 16 or 18 years old. Check with the exam provider for any age-related policies.

Can I use the CEFR C1 exam result for visa or immigration purposes?
In some cases, a CEFR C1 exam result may be accepted as proof of language proficiency for visa or immigration purposes, such as for study, work, or residency permits. However, requirements vary by country and purpose, so it's essential to check with the relevant authorities for specific guidelines.
